ALT light

HI list
I have the alt light on all the time the engine is running or the key is on 
in my 66 SV. system is charging fine, is the relay for the light the 1 under 
the dash mounted on a cross bar to the right of the column? also is there a 
common problem that solves this, baring replacing the alt and control box? ( 
I am still running a Lucas Alt) the previous owner had just removed the bulb
