It's possible but I don't know how necessary. The PO installed an electric
pump on my Series 5, but left the regular pump in place, too. I've seen a
couple instances where owners have installed an electric pump and then
installed a blanking piece over where the old pump used to go.
I also have a regulator in line with mine and it's set at the lowest
pressure but I don't know exactly what it is.
