I wonder if we could find out from Laycock, if they're still in business.
One of the problems with the overdrive gearbox is the rotation of the
planetary wheels. The wheels supposedly act as a centrifuge, causing the
additives in the oil to separate. ATF oils are designed for planetary gears,
but I'm not sure about motor oils.
Anybody on the list in the metallurgy field? Maybe we can get a materials
analysis done.
