OK. Spent 3 hours last night getting that ?#%@@** trans out of my Series II. Got the clutch and flywheel off tonight. Sure enough, that pesky freeze plug's seeping. Got it out without much fanfare. There was the dreaded sand in there, kinda gray slimy stuff. Not too much though. Question: There is another (bigger) plug to the lower right. What is that one? Should I replace that too? Kinda looks like it leads into the oil pressure or (my bet:) camshaft? Gary Strom |
