To All:

First, I would caution all list members including Bob Berghult, that
they should not jump to conclusions based on Steve Graham's account of
the
circumstances. Second, I would have liked to have settled this matter
off list, but this was Steve Graham's choice.

What actually happened was that last November after some discussion on
the list I paid Steve Graham $23 US inc. shipping for what I assumed
would be a viable or restorable part. (I also turned down Tom Wiencek's
offer of a flame trap because I was already committed to buy Steve Graham's).
What I received, was a piece of junk that none of you would ever put on
your car, and is absolutely unrestorable. (I will send pictures, on
request). I decided that I was naive in overly trusting a list member
and expecting a quality part for a good price, and decided to simply
take the loss. However, Steve Graham's increasing commercial activity on
the list, with the Toyota 5-speed and recently, with some parts he
described as being in "reasonable condition", prompted me to check on
his ethical commitment to goods he sells by asking for my money back.
This is the result. (Shortly after receiving the above mentioned junk, I
saw Ed Esslinger's flame trap on E-bay, and purchased a completely
satisfactory flame trap at a very reasonable price. This was several
months ago, and had nothing to do with my decision to ask Steve Graham
to refund my money).

I apologize to list members for taking up your time with this matter
(again, it wasn't my choice). Before having any dealings with Steve
Graham, I would advise you to contact me off list, and I will send you
pictures of the offending item, and copies of my correspondence with him.
