Quite a few years ago, I was at Rick's place (Sunbeam Specialties) when he
was working on the 4th prototype top from a top manufacturer. It was not
a Robbins top. Rick told me that the supplier he used to have went out of
business and he was working to get it right, as others really didn't do it
right, including Robbins. As I recall, Robbins didn't care to give it any
attention.
I don't know what the ultimate result was - I've got a GT. As I said,
though, it was quite a few years ago. Before just buying from Robbins,
I'd check with Rick to see what he's offering since he was taking the time
to get it right.
Note that I presume that whatever Rick did, Curt offers too. So, you can
probably check with him too.
