Lou mentioned needing to slide the engine forward to get the OD installed.
I never had this requirement for either the SV or the S3 with the same
engine and tranny. It was close, but the tail end did just clear in front
of the middle cross piece. I will say though that my S3 has my SV cross
member on it (because it was already 100% rebuilt). So, I don't know if a
pre-SV cross member puts the engine (and thus tranny) back a little.
