Just in case there is anyone out there who doesn't have the formula, I managed
to trace this down. I can't remember if the original question was ever
answered, but here it is:
IR=EM/Er Where Er= actual fuel consumed in Liters per 100km, and EM is
calculated using this formula: P-300/100 + V/25 + (V-95)squared/600 +
(V-140)cubed/21,000 Where V= average hourly speed (kpm), and P=actual weight
of car in kg. THis was taken from "Sunbeam Alpine and Tiger, the Complete
Story" Grahm Robson, Though I can think of a better tiltle for the book.
The car Lapped the circuit at 5:16.4 seconds (fastest), averaged 90.92 MPH
(147km/h and traveled 2,182 miles (3,491 km). Can find no homologated weight
in any of my books or text. Hope that helps. Lou
