Fresh Air in a Series 3

Before I send this sweet body in for paint and pedicure I was considering a 
conversion to fresh air vent like the series 5.  I have driven many Alpines 
without the vents and I do favor those little babies on a hot day.

What would be involved besides:

*  New lower dash rail to include the "V" rods
*  Plastic Air Vents

What kind of cutting did the factory do?  Was it an additional piece welded 
in that I can do or was it an actual sheet metal change in production?
