Unfortunately it appears that Iran bought the 1600cc engine from
Volkswagen-Argentina (from the Hillman Avenger/Plymouth Cricket that was sold
there as a VW) to install in the "new" Peykan. I say this because the specs
for the Peykan seem to indicate that this engine is now being used.
In my collection I have both a colored, English language sales brochure for
the Peykan and an owner's manual in Farsi (the Iranian language). I also have
about a dozen photographs (including a Police car) and a video tape of a drive
through Teheran showing traffic jams of Peykans!
Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is an embargo on buying or selling
anything into or out of Iran.

parts such as diff's etc from this Iranian company retooling to continue
