Alpines: ARE Ser iV GEAR PUMPKINS INTERCHANGEABLE w/ Ser V?

Hello The List,

  Can a gear cluster from a Series III or IV, pumpkin and all, be bolted 
directly into a Series V. I know the axle shafts are different, but are the 
gear clusters interchangeable anyway?

  I have the option to buy a series IV axle, and could use the 3.89:1 gears, 
but *only if they fit directly into my Series V axle without complications.*
