My son's S5 is garaged and seldom started (monthly) due to lack of time
and space. Tonight we charged the battery and let it idle for about
10-15 minutes up to operating temperature. We then drove it about a
block and when slowing down to turn, it died. Upon turning the ignition
to restart, nothing, except a slight click and slight turn but not
enough to turn over so we jump started it. The question I have is what
devices make up the electrical system that prevent it from holding a
charge? We had the alternator rebuilt last year and the battery is
always charged before running. Is the voltage regulator a possible
culprit in this as it is original, The starter was also rebuilt last
year. Thanks and have a great Memorial weekend with family and Sunbeams.
