Two different adjustment straps were used. The early one was curved like
yours and the later one had a spacer at the block and was straight. The
curved ones often broke in the curve because of vibration and when Rootes
realized this, they redesigned the strap.

noticed my generator pulley is about 1" forward of the crank and fan
pulley line-up. Is this correct? Also, what is the correct strap that is
used for the adjustment to the generator? Mine has a bend in it and it
looks like the picture in the manual shows it as a straight strap.
