The studs are surprisingly long, I was able to use a spacer and keep the old
studs on my '61 Husky.

and that way you don't need to worry about them. I read somewhere advising
that you can't just machine them off, though I don't know why other than
proper balancing. if you use spacers, chances are that you will need to get
