Hey Alpine nuts I am just reassembling my engine and have noticed two different torque settings for the con rod bolts on the 1725 engines. The rods are from a Hillman hunter, and the one hunter manual I have states a torque of 29 ft/lb. Whereas all my other 1725 manuals (alpine and superminx) state a torque of 24 ft/lb. I would have thought that the bolts were identicle, though the hunter rods don't have the self locking nuts of the earlier 1725 engines. Can anyone confirm? Greg |
