I have Alpine VIN B395004498.  My is titled (tag receipt) as a 1967.  Most
Alpines were probably titled as whatever model year was current when they
were sold, not necessarily when they were manufactured.

Right, In the US we are more concerned with the year a vehicle was built, as 
opposed to the model or series.
