Now that I'm thinking about it.... they may have been painted. You've got me
teeter totering on that one Tom! :-)

Generators were painted grey from the factory and replacements were black. The
pulleys were die cast and not painted. Chrome would not be an option. It's
custom.

Were stock pulleys chrome or painted? Or was chrome an aftermarket option. I

Hi all,
I spent some time installing the head on my SII this weekend. On my test
drive the generator pulley flew apart (quite exciding, really). Has this
happened to anyone else? Also, any ideas for a replacement? SS doesn't
carry them, and I have not called Smitty yet. Should I be worried about any
40 year old pulley coming apart? Is there a steel replacement?
