I used the original vinyl off a spare metal soft-top door.  It was otherwise 
ripped and useless, but there was a big enough piece to do the dash with just 
one small crease right above the speedometer.  

The material was thin and soft and easy to work with.  The dash turned out 
pretty good--not new, for sure, but pretty good.
