Jay,
        I used just the fiber gasket alone on my series I for many years. Now
that I am using both the fiber and metal I'm more suspicious of vacuum
leaks occurring from using the metal gasket, but I have no evidence of
that happening. Remember, the dimples go on the outside facing the
intake manifold.
