You can also cut a gasket from a corn flakes box-works quite well.

An acceptable English way of spelling it, listed as first spelling in the
Oxford concise dictionary.  Remember they (and we Aussies) have a 'u' in
colour, boots instead of trunks, bonnets not hoods .......

Probably doesn't matter all that much, but it would save on metal to metal
contact and in the long term wear on the carby body.  I'd suggest neatly
cutting some to shape from gasket paper or thin  rubber.
