Two words: Penetrene and Time. I was having trouble getting the thermo housing off my Series 3. I soaked the bolts and gasket lines in Penetrene (a penetrating fluid, mostly diesel I'm told) and left it to soak overnight. Next day I rocked the bolts back and forth with the socket wrench.
