Uh-oh -
You don't specify which model the car is, but it sure sounds like leaky
booster syndrome. If the car has a brake booster, I suspect the fluid is
going into the vacuum chamber. Very shortly, you'll be rewarded with a large
cloud of VERY nasty smelling smoke pouring out of the tailpipe. (when you
step on the brake pedal with the engine running)
Whether or not you rebuild or bypass the booster seems to be a matter of
personal preference. Some like the feel of the unboosted brakes. I, for one,
prefer the feel of the system with a properly working booster.
