Jay,
I've been saying all along that the Factory intended to have the license
plate mounted on the deck lid. One of the local dealers told me the
Rootes sent a memo instructing them to make sure it was mounted on the
deck lid and not under the bumper. This dealer liked them better under
the bumper...so that's where he put them. License plates and mounting
brackets WEREN'T installed by the factory. They were dealer installed.
Rootes only influenced where the location was to be. If anyone wants to
be absolutly factory correct...mount your plates on the deck lid!
