As Chris says gearboxes are interchangeable BUT those in the SIII have
different ratios to all other series. Also, bear in mind that gearboxes from
Vogues, Rapiers, etc are similar, (but again with different ratios) so be sure
your spares aren't from one of those. All synchro boxes were introduced in
late 1964 - apparently along with a change of chassis number. I believe in
SIVs all synchro cars chassis no's begin B941..... whereas cars with
non-synchro boxes begin B940.... However, as your car has a non-original
engine ( SIV's being 1600s) the gearbox may also not be standard. In fact,
one of your spares might be the original from the car.......
