Hi all,
I have a strange situation with my SII. The car has a SV block and head,
but the P.O. kept the SII radiator, water pump, and reservoir. I have the
"J" hose in place, a 160 thermostat, and a pressurized radiator cap(7 psi, I
think).
Here is what the car does: On cold days at low speeds the coolant temp never
reached 160. On hot days the car heats up but is still slow to do so.
It seem as if the car has no thermostat. Could this have something to do
the engine and cooling system coming from different cars?
Also on hot days the car runs over 190 at freeway speeds. What is a quick
(and cheep) way to improve the cooling system? Note: the car has no oil
cooler, original fan, and the condition of the radiator is unknown.
