We had to pull the engine out and do a rebuild (ouch!!!)

Left the tran in because, well, seemed like a good place to store it! the =
car is sitting on an EZLift with a 2x4 across holding up the tran

Engine is coming back this week, and I'm thinking if I move the tran back a=
few inches (disconnect the driveshaft and tran mount), then we can slide =
the tran back into the engine.

The engine is really easy to remove w/o the tran and I'm thinking it should=
just drop right back in. we've done the tran R&R so many times we should =
be able to slide it back into the engine. I just don't want to go through =
the hassle of pulling the tran and then trying to install them together, tr=
ying to get the tran under the scuttle then back into the car. Seems like =
way too much work when I think this will work.

Does this make sense or am I missing something? The seats, dash support, a=
nd tunnel cover are still out. carbs and exhaust manifold will be installe=
d after engine is in place.
