Hi Jerry:

Recently I plugged that line completely and found that my idle has smoothed
out quite a bit. That is with the Good triple Stromberg kit with totally
rebuilt carbs and a rebuilt brake booster.

Unfortunately, around same time I also fixed a valve cover gasket which was
leaking some oil, so it is possible that I have also repaired another issue.

Nevertheless, overall idle is definitely better.

How important is an in-line restrictor in the hose between the ZS carb
mixing
chamber ports and the top of the carbon canister? The impact of this plumbing
on idle?
