Ah! The "Choke Enhancement Clip" otherwise known as a clothespin clipped to
the choke knob shaft which holds the choke open during in warm-up.

I had this setup for a while, but eventually the springs overcome the
friction
holding the choke in position. Then I could no longer set the choke - the
springs would return the choke to off. So I removed the springs and now all
is
well. The solid cables do a good job of both pushing and pulling, just like
the solid cables in areas like your heat/vent flaps, etc.
