That should be another clue if I recall correctly. The rotation of the wheel
should have the effect of tightening the spinners, ie the car moving forward
at speed should not allow the spinner to work its way off the adapter.
The owners manual says left hand threaded adapters to the right hand side of
the vehicle, right hand threaded adapters on the left hand side of the vehicle
(as viewed from the drivers seat)

looking towards the front.
