Dave, the dash support will easily accommodate a standard DIN cage. The
structural nature of the H support is vastly overrated. Expanding the existing
hole slightly for the DIN cage will have no ill effects beyond deducting a few
concourse points.

Subject: [6pack] Radio Install prep

Hi all!

I was thinking of going out to buy a new stereo radio for my car. The
stock opening in
my dash support plinth measures 1-3/4 x 4-1/2". Most standard radio
cases today
measure about 2-1/4 x 7-1/4". Is it safe to cut out that much material
from the plinth
or is some reinforcement needed/recommended?
