Oliver:
After experiencing a high failure rate on the Lucas, I finally
resorted to
replacing the Lucas unit with a generic two terminal flasher from the local
auto parts store.
No problems since then. I also purchased a mounting bracket, since the
original
bracket only accommodates the square Lucas flasher, but the rest of the world
uses the small round can. It is held in place by the original TR6 screw in the
original
location.
The Lucas units either died completely, or slowed to a stop when the
TR6 was idling
at a stop light. I was replacing them every few months. I also like the fact
that that
the unit I am presently using is LOUD, so I get some audible clicks when the
flasher
is operating. Makes it more difficult to unknowingly drive around with my
flasher blinking
and telling the world "This driver is an idiot".
