I have to be honest - I have no idea where the ding came from. I just
haven't been watching that closely. That said, I don't recall that the
crack was there in MAR when I installed the nylatron bushings.
A agree with the sand/polish thing. Maybe on the replacements.

I know they break there and also where the shock mounts (behind the hub
carrier). But this is not a radical suspension.
I have Triumphtune "Sprint" springs (roughly 600 lbs), with a spacer (the
springs are REALLY short), rebuilt lever shocks (apple hydraulics HD),
goodparts swaybar and goodparts nylatron and adjustable camber brackets. I
ran the car through the entire suspension range checking for binding and
there is none and the upper and lower bump stops function as designed
except that upper bump rubber is re-shaped and the upper bump stop is
moved up about 1/2"
It's not very radical... most of the lowering comes from tire profile
(23x9x15 slix)!
