Dave, to the best of my knowledge seals were never used on the 6 cyl engines
and they are probably not required when using new steel valve guides. The
bronze guides need bigger clearances and tend to allow oil to pass even when
new and Richard Good sells a set of specially machined bronze guides that take
a small viton seal to discourage this.

Subject: [6pack] Valve Seals
I am having some minor work done on the head of my 250. The machine shop
asked if I could find valve seals - rubber rings for the top of the valves.
I saw the old ones on the valves when they were removed but I can't find
them in catalogs and heard from someone that Triumph never used valve seals.
Is there any reason to search them out and find something to use - nothing
in Moss? Or is it just fine not to use them.
Thanks,
Dave
