Dave, most of these aftermarket belt stalks need the bracket to function
correctly and that is what I did for the Securon and for the belts that I just
replaced them with. There should be just enough clearance for the nut to go on
the bolt without hitting the tranny tunnel. If yours are like my old Securon,
the stalks are not that long to start with and I'm not convinced that bending
them would be successful anyway.

Subject: [6pack] Securon Belt Install question
Hey List!
Anyone else out there installed the Securon 500/30 seat belts lately?
How did you attach
the stalk portion of the setup to the floor? Since the mounting hole for
the stalk portion is
through the floor behind each seat and the bolt/connector-end of the
stalk has a flat hole
in the same plane as the stalk receptacle, did you twist the stalk to
have it face the right
way and bolt it directly to the floor or did you use the L-shaped
bracket supplied, bolting
the stalks to the bracket and then the bracket to the floor? Hope that
makes sense.
Thanks for any responses,
Dave
