This weekend is time to take the TR6 out of storage for the driving
season (yesterday we got 6" of snow but it will be melted by
tomorrow).
During this loooong winter I have been wondering about using
ethanol/gasoline blends (10%/90%) in the TR6.
The engine in my TR6 runs at 9.5 compression, cam from the UK 150hp PI
engine, ported & polished head, s/s valves, triple webers and an
electric fuel pump,
What are the Pro's and Con's of the ethanol blend (94 octane) on the
engine, carbs (including seals, floats and various metal and non-metal
parts), etc. and performance.
The ethanol blend could also generate extensive ecological,
environmental, agricultural, political, social etc discussions but I
am most interested in the TR6 Mechanical discussion.
Thank you,
Henri
