My engine removal project has begun.

With the hood removed I positioned the 2 ton hoist with the boom fully
extended (so it is now a 1/2 ton hoist..) and with the hoist up against the
front bumper and the boom horizontal I can see that the chain and hook at the
end of the boom is slightly ahead of the oil filler cap. I'm wondering if this
is going to be good enough or if I need to remove the number plate bracket to
get a couple more inches or perhaps even remove the front bumper which would
gain me maybe another five inches and position the hoist end close to the rear
engine lifting eye.

I have the Oberg Tilt Lift, will this current position be ok or do I need to
get the boom further back ?

Stan

I'd recommend that you go with a 2 ton lift. I've seen them on sale for
about the same price and they are significantly more stout. I know HF sells
both and they go on sale all of the time. Pep boys normally has them on
sale too. In this case I think more is better.
