Marty:
Yes, the blue/white wire terminates at a double Lucar connector
just below the grill in the engine compartment. This is where both
headlight pig tails join together into a single wire. Your open must be
inside the engine compartment before the main harness attaches to the
left inner wheel well. You will need to remove the radiator shroud to
complete your trouble shooting.
British Wiring (www.britishwiring.com) has replacement Lucar
connectors, as do the big 3. DO NOT attempt to use crimp (aka bullet)
connectors from the auto parts store as they are a slightly different
size and are not compatible with the Lucars. On one of my project cars a
DPO used crimp on bullet connectors to mate with Lucar connectors, and
split all the Lucar connectors allowing in corrosion etc. Needless to
say they worked for a little while.
Your owner's manual will have a wiring diagram in it, or drop me
a note off list and I will send you some PDF diagrams.
Cheers,
Vance

Subject: [6pack] High beam
Fellow Listers,
First, some background. The passengers side high beam on my 1974 tr6
does not work. Driver side is fine. Low beams work on both sides.
Switched the headlamps and both high and low beams work on the drivers
side. So, I pulled out the Dan Masters book and started to trace down
the problem with my multi meter. Seems like there is no power on the
blue/white wire at the connector to the headlamp.
Now I'm working backwards to see if there is a break in the wire
somewhere. My question is this: does that blue/white wire terminate at a
bullet connector somewhere? Where? On the drivers side? If so, I'm
thinking that connector may be corroded (or otherwise messed up by the
DPO - it is a mess).
