Michael---No more than about a 10% difference between cylinders is the
accepted thought here. The readings you show are way higher than
"stock", which would be closer to 125 on the later head. It suggests
that you're close to 10.0:1 on your CR.
See what the readings are after the valve adjustment. Maybe they were
Really Off!

While I have my '76 in for carb tuning, the mechanic did a compression
test and got the following readings:
Cyl 1: 197
Cyl 2: 182
Cyl 3: 196
Cyl 4: 161
Cyl 5: 165
Cyl 6: 190
Does this discrepancy between cylinders 4 and 5 compared to the rest
indicate a problem?? The mechanic plans to adjust the valves first to
see if that is the cause.
