My money is on "yes it can be salvaged". I once salvaged a motor that was
left outdoors with the air cleaner off, letting rain and snow get into the
internals. The pistons were in there pretty tight, but I managed to get
them out without damage. Yours should be easy by comparison.

There are books about restoring old tractors, and most books deal with stuck
motors. Most old tractors lived outdoors and are far more likely to get
stuck motor syndrom than a TR6.
