It probably is bogus. If these are real you assign this person the right to
collect for you. Then they send the net check to you and keep their fee.
NEVER send any money up front.  They will walk and you will never hear from
them again. And I agree, a quick phone call to the State Treasurer's office
- unclaimed funds division will confirm or deny this very quickly.
