Marine plywood is a must. Look in the phone book and you might find a
hardwood lumber store in your area. If so, pay them a visit; you might find
a hardwood veneer that you really like. Put that on the marine plywood and
slap on a little spar varnish or polyurethane. It may turn out looking so
good that you don't need to buy one.
