Just adding some personal experience to what Bob stated.

I also have experience with the electricals of the TR6.

The above is correct on my TR6.

I also put a flat braided ground strap across the right motor mount from the 
block to the frame and a wire across one of the exhaust hangers to ground the 
exhaust pipes.  I had the experience of flashing or blinking my headlights 
every time my exhaust pipes grounded to the frame.  After installing these 
extra ground straps electrical items seemed to jump back to life with more 
vigor and less complaints!
