I see many fog lights with cracked or broken lenses, but then again I live in
winter country where they spread sand (with gravel sized chunks) on the
pavement. Hard on windshields.
I had my lights mounted below the bumper on
a Volvo, but re-mounted them above the bumper for additional protection. The
Bosch and Hella glass lenses are expensive to replace. Best to rig up some
way to protect such as those headlight protector screens you can buy at
autoparts store.
