I did the SU Coversion, bolting up my ZS KNs by just using 2 of the bolt
holes. I wondered if there was an issue as the (breathing holes?) in the
filter to carb plate don't really match with the SU carb's plumbing.
Admittedy I don't completely understand how my carbs work.
The bolt alignment
got quite silly when I tried to add short ram pipes inside the filters. I
took the ram pipes off. Mine are ram pipes, not stub stacks. I understand
the shorter the pipe, the further any additional power is produced up the rev
range. A bit longer is better for street.
I suppose the best solution is to
get the 21/2" or so KNs made specifically for HS6. APT appears to offer a
complete line of KNs for our cars. I thinks there's something in their
catalog about an offset bolt pattern that's useful for using ram pipes.
