Hmm, I always thought that the trunnions got lubed via the nipple at the
bottom of the vertical link, just above the seal of the trunnion and not via a
direct path into the trunnion itself other than the oil used on initial
assembly.

Subject: Trunnion grease fitting?
I know this topic has been exhaustively discussed before, but couldn't find
specific info.
I looked at my TR6 official parts catalog, and it shows a grease fitting on
the bottom of the trunnion. But the TRF catalog doesn't show one. I'm about
ready to install a pair of NOS trunnions, but neither they, nor the old ones
had zerks installed.
Are listers fitting their trunnions with zerks? Or without the zerks, are
people just adding it through the seal at the top?
I'm hesitant to drill through the bottom because I don't know how thick the
steel bottom is.
Note that Williams says to fill them with 90 wt. hypol oil and add grease
later during maintenance. The oil will keep the grease soft.
