Hello List,
I finally finished up my top cover o-ring repair. It went back together again
with out incident as I had some pictures to look at. I ended up using 7/16" ID
and 11/16" OD o-rings as they were thicker and filled the hole a little better.
The shaft is 1/2" so the rings ID was a bit undersized but they pushed through
the holes with a bit of pressure after applying some oil.
In the picture you can see the thicker o-ring fills the hole much better.

Perhaps the O-rings fitting too tightly (stretching too much) over the 1/2"
selector rod will result in premature wear. But I'm pretty sure its not going
to leak until the gearbox is ready for a full rebuild.
