The ARO valve can be easily removed and connected to a 12 volt source.
Polarity doesn't matter. Mine makes a significant "clack" and you can visually
observe the plunger move downward to effect closure of the canister. You can
confirm contact of the valve seat by blowing into the small vacuum port. If
that doesn't seem to work, check the electrical continuity of the solenoid
coil. If these two measures don't work, consider running w/o one or shelling
out $60 bucks for a new one. All of this can be confirmed by reading the
Nelson Reidel link quoted in the previous email.
<Next question: the only piece of electric equipment that still does not work
on my car is the windshield washer pump. Does anyone have an extra one? Or
is there a cheap aftermarket replacement available? Or a pump from another
car that fits?>
Check eBay. There's one, complete with bottle available now if you hurry. See
