Michael: I wouldn't be concerned if 10W30 is in the sump. While it MIGHT make your pressure read a bit low, modern oils are much better than the 20W50 specified back when the car was designed. Most motor wear occurs on cold startup. The 10W30 might be beneficial because it tends to start flowing more quickly. Vance regularly runs 10W30 in his car. So far as we know it hasn't blown up yet ... at least not because of the oil! Regards, Jim (snip) |
