Mark---To get a preload on this bearing, one must pull the clutch
operating arm to the rear of the car (which pushes the bearing forward).
The bolt you'll use to connect the strap to is one of the ones coming
thru from the tranny cover. I think it's the third one from the back,
driver's side. It will be more clear when you connect the spring to the
3-hole shaft arm, stretch the spring the required half inch, and drill
the hole in the strap. Only one of the existing tranny cover lts will
line up well. I recall that the installation kit includes a longer bolt,
to replace the one coming thru the tranny cover.

If not clear, let me know and I'll dig out my instruction sheet and scan
it for you.

I'm taking the opportunity while the tranny cover is off to correct
something I forgot when I put my Guntz bearing in. I'm confused which
bolt the preload strap attaches to. Is it one of the top cover bolts, or
one of the bolts around the bell housing, or...?? sorry, totally
lost on this one.
Thanks,
