        Yes, it would seem that most people simply block these off.
However:

        1. Your car will fail emissions testing if they are blocked. If
your car is exempt, then you may not care.
        2. You will get heat soak and rough idle if they are blocked.

        I found that my car runs better (no heat soak or rough idle
after a long run) with these cleaned and properly calibrated. Granted,
it does make setting the idle more difficult, but I am happier with them
than without them.

        IMHO, of course....

Aren't these the things that everyone ends up blocking off.  If so, you
may want to save your money.
